  ER Platform
ER INTRODUCTION::

Starting in mid 2006 DTS has been working on a new data recorder platform we call the ER, for embedded recorder.
Until recently our development needed to be kept confidential due to our customer’s use in Army combat helmets. The Army has recently made their program public and you can read a news report at: http://www.military.com/features/0,15240,159591,00.html
ER started as an SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research) program with Wright Patterson AFRL. The purpose was to investigate the feasibility of a helmet mounted shock measurement device.
In 2007, in cooperation with BAE Systems, DTS used the ER platform to create HEADS (Headborne Energy Analysis and Diagnosis System). HEADS was created to monitor 3 axis of acceleration and over-pressure on an Army helmet to try to better understand traumatic brain injury (TBI).
